DIETARY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR INFANTS, CHILDRENS, AND ADOLESCENTS

The main challenge we face when it comes to taking care of our children's oral cavity is the diet. Lot if children usually prefer to consume sugars in terms of chocolates, sweets, ice creams etc. The task at hand here is "How to provide a balanced meal and restrict my child from consuming sugars and what are the necessary precautions that I as a parent can take in preventing the occurrence of dental decay despite the sugar consumption?"

The answer to the above question starts right from the age of infancy. It is a well established fact that Breast-milk is extremely essential for the child while growing up. It can be ensured that the child is breastfed until at least 12 months of age. This helps in ensuring the best possible health and developments, psychological outcomes for the infants.

Routine visits to us at FMS KIDS will also help our team of Pediatric Dentists to provide the necessary education and counseling to new parents regarding the best possible diet that can be followed for the child’s development. The advantage of routine dental visits is that it also gives us a chance to assess the development of the oro-maxillofacial region and also the general well being of the child. Accordingly the necessary dietary and oral hygiene practices will be advised by team of Doctors.

Importance regarding Age-appropriate oral hygiene practices will also be given here at FMS KIDS. Maintaining proper balanced diet and good oral hygiene practices is stressed upon during the dental visits of the child as these go together in maintaining good overall health of the child.
