Dr. Shailaja Reddy is a senior dental practitioner with over 30 years of clinical practice and one of the best dentists in Hyderabad, India. She co-founded FMS Dental in 1993, India’s first multi-specialty dental hospital, and has been treating patients ever since. Although she is the Vice-Chairman and Chief Implantologist of FMS Dental, she is a hands-on clinician who spends her time on patient care, not administration. Her approach is simple: understand the whole mouth, make the right diagnosis and see every patient’s treatment through to a lasting result.
Her practice covers the full range of everyday and advanced dentistry: general dentistry, laser dentistry and dental implants. She treats routine problems with the same care she brings to complex rehabilitations. In 1999 she launched one of India’s earliest dedicated implantology programmes, and she and her team has since placed more than 25,000 implants with a documented 98.6% success rate. She introduced All-on-4 to FMS Dental in 2008, Zygomatic implants in 2010 and Pterygoid implants in 2015.
Over three decades, Dr. Shailaja has followed lakhs of cases end-to-end, from the first diagnosis and treatment plan through treatment, the final restoration and long-term review. Her patients come from over 40 countries.
She also manages temporomandibular disorders (TMD) comprehensively. With DTR certification, T-Scan bite analysis and training in neuromuscular dentistry, she makes sure every treatment, from a single crown to a full-mouth rehabilitation, rests on a stable, comfortable bite.
Dr. Shailaja leads Team Implantology, a group of senior oral and maxillofacial surgeons, prosthodontists, periodontists and TMD specialists, many of whom have worked together for over two decades. She studies each case, makes the diagnosis and guides who does what, so the right specialist handles each step.
She is also a committed teacher. As Head of the Department of Oral Implantology at Sri Sai College of Dental Surgery, Vikarabad, she has mentored more than 400 dental practitioners. She was a Mentor and Speaker at the Nobel Biocare World Conference in Mumbai in 2008 and holds a fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), USA.
